Remove And Install Ether Starting Aid
1. Remove ether starting aid (1) from the top of the air inlet manifold. The following steps are for the installation of the ether starting aid. At the time of assembly install the ether starting aid as illustrated. The two dot marks (180° apart) indicate the orifice spray direction. These marks must be pointed to the front and the rear of the engine to avoid spraying ether onto the inlet air heater element.2. Install ether starting aid (1). The minimum seating torque for the ether starting aid is 2.8 N m (25 lb. in.). For more information on the ether starting aid, refer to the specification section of this service manual.
