CAMSHAFT GP 1614276 - Caterpillar

1. Release the pressure in the brake system. 2. Loosen bolts (1) that hold pins (2) in position in the brake calipers.3. Install a 1/2"-13 NC forged eyebolt (3) in the pin. Use a bar as shown to pull pin (2) from the caliper until the brake lining can be removed. 4. Remove rear brake lining (4). 5. Turn the wheel until hole (5) in the wheel is in alignment with the front pin of the brake caliper. Use tool (A) to pull the front pin from the caliper until the front brake lining can be removed.Install Brake Linings
1. Push the brake pistons farther back into the brake caliper. This will give the needed clearance to install new brake linings. 2. Put brake linings (1) in position on the lower pins in the brake caliper.3. Put pins (2) in position. 4. Check the clearance between pins (2) and disc (5) with a thickness gauge (3). The minimum clearance is .010 in. (0.25 mm). Move pins (2) in or out to get the correct amount of clearance.5. Tighten bolts (4) that hold the pins in position.6. Remove (bleed) the air from the brake system. See TESTING AND ADJUSTING.
