PROBLEM
The existing temperature sensor flanges with included long adapter fitting will not allow the sensor probe to be immersed in the brake cooling oil flow causing inaccurate temperature measurement on certain 794 AC Off-Highway Trucks. If the specific front left or right wheel and rear left or right wheel brakes are dragging and potentially failing, the oil temperature measurement may not get high enough to warn the operator of the specific brake failure.

ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to Special Instructions Media # M0077646 and Service Magazine Media # M0077652 for rework instructions. Rework the front and rear brake cooling lines routings by removing the existing spacer flanges and long adapter fittings that house the temperature sensor and replace with new spacer flanges that allow the temperature sensor be mounted directly on the flange spacer. This change will allow the sensor probe to be immersed in the oil stream for a more accurate temperature measurement.
