The suspension of the seat performs several functions:
Isolation
Automatic Weight Adjustment
Height Adjustment
Connection to the SeatIsolation and Weight Adjustment
Air bag (1) acts as a spring as the air is compressed due to the motion of inner scissor arm (2) relative to lower housing (3). The amount of air that is in the air bag is determined by the operator. (Refer to "Isolation and Weight Adjustment".) The pressure in the air bag is determined by the weight of the operator. This provides automatic weight adjustment. Damping is provided by shock absorber (4).Height Adjustment
Using the Toggle Switch
The height of the seat is determined by the volume of air in the air bag (1). To raise the suspension, the operator holds toggle switch (5) upward and air enters the air bag (1). To lower the suspension, the operator pushes down on toggle switch (5) and the air in the air bag (1) is released. Note: The operator must not change the height of the suspension so that the stroke is inadequate for the particular application. The suspension height must be changed if the seat bottoms out excessively or if the seat bounces to the maximum height too much. The Up position of toggle switch (5) completes a 24 volt circuit from harness terminal (6) to compressor (7). Compressor (7) provides pressurized air to the air bag (1).The Down position of toggle switch (5) completes a 24 volt circuit from harness terminal (6) to solenoid (8). The solenoid opens an exhaust port for the air bag (1).Using the Air Valve Knob

The height of the seat is determined by the volume of air in the air bag (1). To raise the suspension, the operator pushes in air valve knob (5) and air enters the air bag (1). To lower the suspension, the operator pulls out air valve knob (5) and the air in the air bag (1) is released.Note: The operator must not change the height of the suspension so that the stroke is inadequate for the particular application. The suspension height must be changed if the seat bottoms out excessively or if the seat bounces to the maximum height too much. When air valve knob (5) is pushed in, a 24 volt circuit to compressor (7) is completed. Compressor (7) provides pressurized air to the air bag (1).When air valve knob (5) is pulled out, line (9) from the air bag (1) to the exhaust port is opened.Connection to the Seat
