Remove Steering Control Valve
1. Open the right side platform assembly. See REMOVE HYDRAULIC TANK.2. Loosen the filler cap on the hydraulic tank and slowly release the pressure.3. Lower the level of the oil in the hydraulic tank below the steering control valve. 4. Disconnect oil lines (1) from the valve. 5. Disconnect oil lines (2) from the valve. 6. Remove four bolts (3) from the elbow on hydraulic tank. 7. Remove upper two bolts (4) from the flange.8. Remove bolts (5) that connect the manifold to the steering control valve. 9. Remove bolt (6) that holds the valve to the hydraulic tank.10. Remove two bolts (7) on opposite sides of the valve. Remove the steering control valve.Install Steering Control Valve
1. Put bolt (2) in position in the steering control valve. Carefully install the steering control valve. Do not damage or move the O-ring seals on the steering control valve manifold as the steering control valve is installed.2. Install bolt (1). Install the bolt opposite bolt (2) that holds the steering control valve to the hydraulic tank. 3. Install four bolts (3) that connect the elbow to the steering control valve. 4. Install bolts (5) that connect the manifold to the steering control valve.5. Install upper two bolts (4) that connect the hose to the manifold and valve. 6. Connect oil line (6) to the steering control valve. 7. Connect oil lines (7) to the steering control valve.8. Fill the hydraulic tank.9. Close the right side platform assembly and install the bolts. See INSTALL HYDRAULIC TANK.Disassemble Steering Control Valve
start by:a) remove steering control valve 1. Remove plug (1), shims, spring and valve from the cover. 2. Remove bolts (2). Remove cover (3) from the valve body. 3. Remove valve seat (4) and the O-ring seal from the cover.4. Remove O-ring seals (5) from the cover. 5. Remove valve stem assembly (6) and valve assembly (7) from the valve body. 5. Remove springs (9) and (10) and shims (8) from the valve. 6. Remove bolt (16) and washer from the valve stem assembly. Remove retainer (15), spring (14), spacer (13), retainer (12) and shims (11). 7. Remove stop assembly (17) from the valve body.8. Remove plug assembly (18) from the valve body. 9. Remove cover (19) and O-ring seal from the valve body.10. Remove plug (20) and O-ring seal, seat (21) and O-ring seal, ball (22), seat (23) and O-ring seal from the valve body.Assemble Steering Control Valve
1. Clean and inspect all parts. Make a replacement of all parts that are worn or damaged. 2. Put clean SAE 10 oil in the bore of the valve body. Install the seat and O-ring seal, ball, seat and O-ring seal and plug (1) and O-ring seal
