Move control lever (1) toward the "MAX" position of the console until the lever hits the end of groove (slot) (2) or the movement of the load piston at the torque converter is stopped. 4. If the control lever hits the end of the groove (slot): a) Keep pressure on the control lever.b) Turn nut (5) clockwise until distance (A), between the control lever and the end of the groove (slot), is .19 .12 in. (4.83 3.05 mm).c) Tighten nut (6) against the mounting groove (slot).5. If the movement of the load piston is stopped: a) Keep pressure on the control lever.b) Turn nut (5) clockwise to move the lever backward or counterclockwise to move the lever forward, as needed, until distance (A) is .19 .12 in. (4.83 3.05 mm).c) Tighten nut (6) against the mounting groove (slot).6. Make an adjustment to stop (7) until distance (B), between the end of the stop and lever (3), is .03 .02 in. (0.76 0.51 mm).7. If the cable (4) adjustment is correct, the converter clutch pressure measured at the control valve with lever (1) in the "MAX" position will not change when the solenoid on the torque converter is activated (floor switch pushed on the earlier models or the switch on the lift control handle is pushed on the later models).
