Use this procedure in order to troubleshoot if any of the following event codes are active or logged.

E053 (1) Low Fuel Pressure Warning The fuel pressure is less than the trip point and the delay time has expired. The alarm output is activated. The code is logged.

E096 (1) High Fuel Pressure The fuel pressure is higher than the trip point and the delay time has expired.
E267 (1) High Gas Fuel Pressure Note: Refer to Troubleshooting, "Engine Monitoring System" for information on trip points and delay times.Probable Causes

Check the Gas Pressure Regulator
Use Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) to observe the absolute fuel pressure and the fuel differential pressure. The fuel metering valve requires a gas supply that is regulated to a pressure between 10 to 35 kPa (1.5 to 5 psi).If the fuel pressure is not within the acceptable range, adjust the gas pressure regulator in order to achieve the correct pressure. Verify that the emissions are within specifications.If the gas pressure regulator cannot be adjusted to the correct setting, repair the regulator or replace the regulator.
