CAMSHAFT-LH 5399726 - Caterpillar

Drill two holes (A) through the radiator guard. Drill holes from the outside of the machine. Refer to Illustration 6.Note: A 1/2" drill bit is acceptable for drilling holes.Note: A Magnetic Drill is recommended for this step.

Remove the left engine enclosure door. Then remove the rear enclosure and lower left guard.

Attach the cooler to the radiator guard using two bolts (4), four washers (7), and two nuts (8). Position bolt heads on the outside of radiator guard.Fuel Return Line Removal
Remove the seat, seat plate, and platform floor plates.

(F) Hose coupling (G) Clip
Remove the current fuel return line. Disconnect the hose coupling (F) and clip (G) from under the platform and the connector at the fuel tank.

Remove two clips (G) from the cab section.Note: A hydraulic hose has been hidden in Illustration 10. The clip (G) is behind the hydraulic lines.

Remove clip (H), grommet (J), and coupling (K) from the enclosure section. The fuel line can be removed.New Lines Installation

(20) Cooler-to-tank return line (21) Engine-out to fuel cooler line
Install line (20) and line (21) to cooler (1) .Note: Do not tighten the couplings until the hoses are routed and the fittings at the other end are oriented.

Install clip (13) .

Assemble clip (13) on AC lines bracket and reorient the existing clips as shown above.

Connect hose assembly (21) using o-ring seal (12). Secure hose assembly (21) using bracket (14), clip (17), clip (18), grommet (19), washer (7), and bolt (15). Secure bracket (14) using link rod (9) to return outlet. Note: Fuel in-line clip (L) needs rotated 180°.
Secure hose assembly (20) to the AC lines bracket using clips (16) .

Connect Hose (20) using o-ring (12) to the fuel tank.
Reassemble rear clips (G) with new lines.Note: Routing stays the same.
Reassemble platform floors and seat.
Reassemble guard and enclosure.
