Information:

Priming the Fuel System
1. Open filter housing vent. 2. Open injector pump housing vent. 3. Unlock priming pump plunger and operate pump until fuel flows from vent, free of bubbles. 4. Close filter housing vent.5. Start engine and allow injector housing to bleed for 30 seconds. 6. Close injector pump housing vent.7. Unlatch safety brace, lower platform and latch rubber fasteners.(46)Cooling Systems - Cleaning
Always inspect cooling system with engine not running.Use caution when removing filler caps on radiators. Remove filler caps slowly to relieve pressure. Steam can cause personal injury.Inhibitor contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
Never add coolant to an overheated engine, allow engine to cool first.
If a machine is to be stored or shipped to an area with below freezing temperatures, refer to Cooling Systems in the 2000 Service Hour or 1 Year section of this guide.Whenever draining or refilling the cooling system, always observe the coolant level when the engine reaches normal operating temperature. 1. Loosen radiator filler caps slowly to relieve pressure. 2. Open cooling system drain valves and drain coolant. 3. Remove engine oil cooler drain plug from bottom of oil cooler and drain coolant. (Engine oil cooler is located on right side of engine.) 4. Remove brake and torque converter (right side of engine) coolant drain plugs and drain coolant. 5. Remove water plugs from air compressor block and drain coolant.
Use all cleaning solutions with care.
6. Remove brake and torque converter (left side of engine) coolant drain plugs and drain coolant.7. Close drain valves and install all drain plugs. Fill system with cleaning solution. (1) Most commercial cooling system cleaners may be used.8. Start engine and run for 1/2 hour. Stop engine and drain cleaning solution.9. Flush system with clean water until draining water is clean. Do not run engine while flushing.10. Close drain valves and install all drain plugs. Fill system with neutralizing solution. (2)11. Start and run engine for 10 minutes. Stop engine and drain system.12. Flush system with clean water until draining water is clear. Do not run engine while flushing.13. Close drain valves and install all drain plugs. Add coolant slowly, 5 U.S. gallons (19 litres) per minute or less, to proper level.14. With filler caps removed, run engine until coolant is warm and level of coolant in radiators stabilizes. Add coolant if necessary. Install filler caps.(1)2 lb. Sodium Bisulphate (NaHSO4) per 10 U.S. gallons (25 grams per litre) water.(2)1/2 lb. Sodium Carbonate Crystals (Na2CO3 10 H2O) per 10 U.S. gallons (6 grams per litre) water.(47)Suspension Cylinders
1. Measure height of cylinders at normal operating temperature. Stop empty vehicle gradually, on a level surface.
FRONT CYLINDERS 8.25 to 8.75 inches (21.0 to 22.2 cm).
REAR CYLINDERS 40.00 to 40.50 inches (101.6 to 102.9 cm).
WAGON CYLINDERS 36.25 to 36.75 inches (90.6 to 91.9 cm).2. If suspension cylinder heights are not correct, consult your Caterpillar dealer.(48)Differential And Final Drives
1. Operate vehicle on level ground for a few minutes before inspecting. Position wheels with drain plugs down.2. Remove
