CAMSHAFT GP-DOUBLE 8N0338 - Caterpillar

Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement. Lubricate the O-ring seals with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Use a nylon lifting strap and a hoist to position load cylinder (8) to the machine. The load cylinder weighs 80 kg (176. lb).

Use a soft faced hammer to install pin assembly (16) that secures load cylinder (8) to the frame. Remove the tooling from the load cylinder.

Install bar (15), the washers and two bolts (14) that secure pin assembly (16) to the frame.
Attach two nylon lifting straps and a hoist to the bracket assembly. Position bracket assembly (5) to the machine. The bracket assembly weighs 55 kg (121 lb).

Align the load cylinder with the bracket assembly. Use a soft faced hammer to install pin (13) that secures the load cylinder to bracket assembly (5). Install bar (12), the washers and two bolts (11) that secure pin (13) to bracket assembly (5). Remove the tooling from the bracket assembly.

Install the washers and four bolts (10) that secure bracket assembly (5) to the frame.

Connect lubrication line (9) to load cylinder (8). Position the O-ring seals and two hose assemblies (7) to load cylinder (8). Install four half flanges, the washers and eight bolts (6) that secure two hose assemblies (7) to load cylinder (8) .

Place Tooling (A) under the tractor, as shown. Use Tooling (A) to lift the tractor off the ground.

Remove the cribbing between the axle housing and the frame. Lower the tractor to the ground. Remove the tooling from the tractor.

Position six clamps (4) to bracket assembly (5). Install the washers and 12 bolts (3) that secure six clamps (4) to bracket assembly (5) .

Attach Tooling (B), lifting chains and a hoist to the fender. Use Tooling (B) to position fender (2) to the machine. The fender weighs 47 kg (104 lb). Install nine bolts (1) and the washers that secure fender (2) to the machine. Remove the tooling from the fender.
