All Caterpillar-Built Products Which Use 1W7399 Filter Element AssembliesDescription of Change: Caterpillar has available three new oil filter elements for use in all Caterpillar products which currently use the 1W7399 Filter Element Assemblies in engine, transmission or hydraulic applications. One of the new element assemblies has a metal insert which gives support to the rubber inner seals at both ends of the element. This will prevent separation of the seal which was possible when the former filter element assembly was used on some earlier engines.
The second element assembly is nearly identical to the former element, and it is for use on later engines.
The third element assembly is for use in hydraulic and transmission applications.
Adaptable As: The 4W4840, the 4W4926 and the 8N4301 Filter Element Assemblies are direct replacements for the former 1W7399 Filter Element Assembly which is canceled. The applications for the three new element assemblies are shown in the chart which follows.
