General Information About The SW 50-03 Setpoint Adjuster
The SW 50-03 Setpoint Adjuster is used mainly for marine engine applications. The SW 50-03 Setpoint Adjuster is a combination unit that performs several functions. See the following for the functions, installation, and instructions:Measuring Transducer With Potential Separation
Frequently the preset values for the speed governor consist of voltage or current signals (readout from a combiner or computer, or other electronic device).The SW 50-03 Setpoint Adjuster transforms these signals into voltage values for the speed controller to set the engine speed. The SW 50-03 Setpoint Adjuster allows a MINIMUM and MAXIMUM speed limit to be set independently of the drive voltage or the drive current.The SW 50-03 Setpoint Adjuster allows the operator to preset a MINIMUM and MAXIMUM limit for the input signal. If the input current or input voltage falls below the Minimum value or exceeds the Maximum value, no change of speed will occur. Rising voltage or rising current will still lead to a higher speed. An optional DSG-01 Pressure Sensor can be connected to the input signals, allowing pneumatic remote speed control.Emergency Operation
If the remote speed control fails, a connection is provided to switch to a Hand and/or Motor potentiometer. The Hand and/or Motor potentiometer can control adjustment and emergency operation of the remote speed control.The Hand and/or Motor potentiometer connection can be used for the installation of Fixed Speed. The Hand and/or Motor potentiometer is integrated into the Remote Control Safety System and MUST always be connected, or replaced by fixed resistors.Enforced Idling Speed
A special input allows Enforced Idling Speed to be set for starting the engine up to idling speed or for driving by engine monitoring.Setpoint Value Delay/Speedramp
In marine engine applications, it may be desirable for the speed not to change abruptly after some variation of the setpoint value. In some cases it is desirable to attain the new setpoint value more slowly.A Setpoint Value Delay is integrated into the SW 50-03 Setpoint Adjuster. The potentiometer allows delay times from 10 to 30 seconds MINIMUM to MAXIMUM operating speed. If delay time is NOT important, the MINIMUM and MAXIMUM operating speed delay can be set reduced to 1 to 3 seconds thus practically neutralized by exchanging two resistors.Boost Pressure Dependent Fuel Limitation
There is the possibility of connecting a boost pressure sensor (DSG-01) to the setpoint adjuster. By means of potentiometers, the actuator position (fuel) can be set for minimum and maximum boost pressure.Intermediate values are intercalated linearly. The limits may be set for minimum and maximum boost pressure.On starting the engine, boost pressure dependent fuel limitation is deactivated by a timer for about 25 seconds. Thus in contrast to the lower boost pressure limit, starting fuel can be increased.Fixed Fuel Limitation
For applications which do not make use of boost pressure dependent fuel, it is possible to switch over to fixed fuel limitation. The maximum actuator fuel may be set by means of a potentiometer.Fail-Safe Override Of The Governor During Standstill
