Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the off position.
Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the draining and filling procedures.

Remove the bolts and plate (1).

Remove drain plug (2) and drain the diesel exhaust fluid into a suitable container. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)".
Install drain plug (2).

Disconnect harness assembly (3).

Remove bolts (4) and plate assembly (5).

Disconnect hose assembly (8).
Loosen clamp (9) and disconnect hose assembly (10).
Loosen clamp (6) and disconnect hose assembly (7).

Loosen clamp (12) and disconnect hose (11).

Remove bolts (13) and ladder (14).

Remove bolts (15) and guard assembly (16).

Position Tooling (A) under diesel exhaust module (17). Raise Tooling (A) until Tooling (A) supports diesel exhaust module (17). The combined weight of diesel exhaust fluid module (17) and bracket assembly (19) is approximately 125 kg (276 lb). Remove bolts (18) and bolts (20) and use Tooling (A) to remove diesel exhaust fluid module (17) along with bracket assembly (19).

Remove nut (21), nut (24), spacer (22), and spacer (26). Disconnect belt (23) and belt (25). Position belt (23) and belt (25) out of the way.

Attach a suitable lifting device to diesel exhaust fluid module (17). The weight of diesel exhaust fluid module (17) is approximately 100 kg (220 lb). Remove diesel exhaust fluid module (17).Installation Procedure
Install diesel exhaust fluid module (17) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten nuts (20) to a torque of 15 3 N m (133 27 lb in).
Tighten drain plug (2) to a torque of 11 3 N m (97 27 lb in).
