(10) Control lever (blade / adjustable gauge) One cylinder is used to expand or retract the undercarriage. When the hydraulic variable gauge (HVG) cylinder EXTENDS, the undercarriage EXTENDS. When the HVG cylinder RETRACTS, the undercarriage RETRACTS.The main hydraulic pump supplies high-pressure oil to the main control valve. The HVG control valve is located inside of the main control valve. The HVG control valve controls the amount of flow into the HVG cylinder and is proportional to the movement of blade lever. The main relief valve control the pressure of the HVG system.Components of the HVG system include:

Changeover valveHydraulic variable gauge uses hydraulic oil from the blade function to operate.
