Attach Tooling (D).
Attach Tooling (D) with Tooling (C), if necessary.Note: Do not pull the pin assembly now.

If the bucket has been removed, use a 101.6 mm (4.0 inch) Bar (Y) through the lift arms with a suitable chain and a suitable fork lift to separate the two frames.
If the bucket is attached to the machine, use a suitable fork lift to lift the bucket and separate the two frames.

Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (D).
Use Tooling (D) to remove upper hitch pin (27) from the hitch.
Remove Tooling (D), and pin assembly (27) from the machine. The weight of the pin assembly is 70 kg (154 lb).

Remove bolts (28), the washers, and plate (29) from the bottom of the lower hitch.

Remove cap (30) from lower hitch pin (31).
Attach Tooling (D).
Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (D).
Use Tooling (D) to remove pin assembly (31).
Remove Tooling (D), and pin assembly (31) from the machine. The weight of pin assembly (31) is approximately 44 kg (97 lb).

Attach a lifting device with a minimum load capacity of 4500 kg (9920 lb) to the non-engine end frame.
Raise the frame to clear the wood blocks under the non-engine end frame.
Illustration 22 g00880020Note: Make sure that the spacer at the bottom of the upper hitch does not hang up on the rear loader frame during separation.
Use a suitable machine to separate the non-engine end frame from the engine end frame.
Continue to move the wood blocks with the non-engine end frame.
The thrust washers can be removed from the steering cylinder now.
Move the frame assemblies approximately 610 mm (24.0 inch) to service the bearings and the seals in the hitch assemblies.
Block the front tires and position cribbing under the non-engine end frame.
Remove the lifting device from the non-engine end frame. The bearings and the seals can be serviced now.

Remove spacer (32) from the upper hitch on the non-engine end frame.

Remove bolts (33), the washers, top cap (34), bottom cap (36), and shims (35) from the upper hitch of the non-engine end frame.

Attach Tooling (E) to the upper hitch of the non-engine end frame.
Remove the sets of bearing cups and the bearing cones from the upper hitch.

Remove bolts (37), the washers, top cap (38), and shims (39) from the lower hitch of the engine end frame.

Remove bolts (40), the washers, and bottom cap (41) from the lower hitch of the engine end frame.

Attach Tooling (F) to the lower hitch of the engine end frame and remove two sets of bearing cups and the bearing cones from the lower hitch.

Remove the seals from all the caps of the upper hitches and the lower hitches.
