(1) Cat Electronic Technician (ET) and Software CD, NETG5057 are required when using the communication adapter.Test Preparation - Steering
Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal location that is away from operating machines and away from personnel.
Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine or in the operator sight.
Place the steering control lever in the NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake.
Lower the attachments to the ground.
Stop the engine.

Rotate screw (1) counterclockwise and open access panel (2).
Connect the communication adapter to service tool connector (E1).
Illustration 3 g03628500Note: Perform steps 9 and 10 to both sides of the machine.
Remove bolts (3) and cover (4).
Remove sun gear (5). Note: The thread in shaft (5) is M16 X 2 - 6H.Test Procedure
The following test assumes that the ECM is set to the following parameters:
Maximum forward ground speed is 3.5.
Reverse ground speed is 100% of forward ground speed.
Start the machine and run the engine at LOW IDLE.
Depress the brake pedal.
Release the parking brake.
Select the highest maximum ground speed setting.
Increase engine speed to HIGH IDLE (last engine throttle control position (rabbit)).
Move the transmission control lever to the maximum FORWARD position.
While the transmission control lever is in the FORWARD position, fully depress the left steering pedal.
Slowly release the brake/deceleration pedal.
