5. Use a hoist to put the cylinder in a vertical position. Fasten a nylon strap (10) between the cylinder end and hoist as shown.
To prevent possible personal injury, do not disconnect any hydraulic lines until all hydraulic pressure has been released from the system.
6. Put identification marks on two hoses (11), and remove them from the rod end of the cylinder. 7. Remove two bolts (12) and bar (13). Use a hammer and punch to push pin (14) out of the rod end of the cylinder and frame. 8. The weight of the hoist cylinder is 167 kg (370 lb.). Remove the hoist cylinder from the truck.Install Hoist Cylinders
1. Fasten a hoist to the hoist lift cylinder, and put the cylinder in position so pin (1) can be installed in the rod end of the cylinder and the frame. Install the pin so the groove (slot) in the pin is toward the inside of the truck. Install bar (3) in the pin groove (slot). Fasten the bar to the frame with two bolts (2) and lockwashers. 2. Inspect the O-ring seals on hoses (4), and make replacements if necessary. Install the hoses on the rod end of the cylinder. 3. Put the cylinder end of the hoist cylinder in position in the body. Install pin (5) so the groove (slot) in the pin is toward the inside of the body. Install the bar in the pin groove (slot). 4. Fasten bar (7) to the frame with two bolts and lockwashers. Install hoses (6) on the cylinder. Fasten the hose clip to the body with a bolt (8) and lockwasher. 5. Install hoist control linkage rod (9) on lever (10) with a nut and lockwasher. 6. Remove two pins (11) that hold the body in the "up " position.7. Lift and lower body several times to remove air from the hoist system. Fill the hydraulic tank to the correct level. See the Maintenance Guide.Disassemble Hoist Cylinder
START BY:a. remove hoist cylinder1. The weight of the hoist cylinder is 167 kg (370 lb.). Install the hoist cylinder on tooling (A). 2. Use tool (B) to remove retainer ring (1) from each side of bearing assembly (2). 3. Install tooling (C) as shown to remove the bearing from the cylinder rod end.4. Do Steps 2 and 3 again to remove the bearing from the cylinder end. 5. Fasten the rod end of the cylinder in tooling (A) as shown. Remove eight bolts (3) and the lockwashers that fasten head (4) to cylinder (5). 6. Use tooling (A) to pull the first stage cylinder until two wood blocks (8) can be installed between stage cylinder (7) and rod (6). 7. Use a soft hammer to push head (4) off second stage cylinder (7). 8. Weight of the second stage cylinder (7) is 38 kg (84 lb.). Weight of the first stage cylinder (5) is 62 kg (137 lb.). 9. Use 5P3046 Tape (9) to cover the contact surfaces of cradles (11) [part
