Installation Procedure

Use two people in order to install air conditioner and heater assembly (11). The weight of air conditioner and heater assembly (11) is approximately 41 kg (90 lb). Install bolts (10).

Connect harness assembly (9).

Install nuts (8) onto both sides of the air conditioner and heater assembly.

Connect hose assembly (7), hose assembly (6), harness assemblies (5), and hose assemblies (4). Connect tube assembly (3).

Install panels (2).

Open water valve (1).
Charge the air conditioner refrigerant from the air conditioner system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134a Refrigerant" for the correct procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NEDG2500, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct tools.
Fill the coolant system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedure.
Remove the truck body retaining cables. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cable (Truck Body Retaining)".
If equipped with a sound suppression arrangement, refer to Special Instruction, "Installation of the 351-3820 Sound Suppression Ar (If Equipped)" or Special Instruction, "Installation of the 350-2312 Sound Suppression Ar (If Equipped)" for specific panel locations and the correct removal or installation procedure.
