First, shut down the machine. Allow the oil to cool down. Then release the pressure in the system. Refer to Steps 1 through 9.Use the following procedure in order to adjust the relief valve setting for 320B, 322B, 325B, or 330B Excavators.

Remove plug (4) that is located below the connection for the supply hose.
Remove valve cartridge (6) from the block (3). Make sure that the spring (5) is not dropped.

Unscrew valve seat (7) from the cartridge (6) in order to access shims (10) .
Adjust the number of shims in order to attain the required specification for the hammer. Removing a shim will reduce the setting value. After completion of the relief valve adjustment, install spring (9) and valve (8). Screw valve seat (7) into the cartridge.Use the following procedure in order to adjust the relief valve setting for 345B Excavators.

(11) Relief valve (12) Locknut (13) Adjustment screwTo adjust the relief valve (11), loosen locknut (12). Turn adjustment screw (13) in order to adjust the value. After completion of the relief valve adjustment, tighten locknut (12) to a torque of 61 6 N m (45 4 lb ft).Note: Turning adjustment screw (13) clockwise increases the pressure. Turning adjustment screw (13) counterclockwise decreases the pressure.Note: Always make final pressure adjustment on the pressure rise.Check the value for the relief valve again.The auxiliary relief valve should be checked for cracking point. This test is performed with the flow meter that is connected in the circuit. Be sure that the load cell valve is open. Activate the circuit. Gradually load the circuit by closing the load cell in the flow meter in increments of 50 Bar or 5000 kPa (725 psi). Continue the adjustment until the flow starts to decrease. This is the cracking point. Record the cracking pressure on the form that is shown in Illustrations 10 and 11.Note: The form that is shown in Illustration 10 may be duplicated. Use a new copy for each machine that is tested.

Setting the Flow for the Auxiliary Circuit
Follow the procedure for setting the flow in the Service Manual, RENR1020-01, "Systems Operation Testing and Adjusting".Set the engine speed to the speed that will be used during normal operation. Failure to follow this procedure may cause the hammer to operate with improper flow.
