Also, change the interference fit to 0.114 mm (.0040").--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------There have been reports of excessive wear in the bores of the steering cylinder brackets in the front frame groups on 950B and 966D Loaders. This can cause excessive wear on the pins that hold the steering cylinders in place. It is also possible for this wear to occur in the steering cylinder brackets in the rear frame groups. To repair worn pin bores, 5D4541 Bearings can be installed.
To install the bearings, the bores in the steering cylinder brackets must be machined to a larger diameter of 63.450 0.025 mm (2.4980 .0010"). The top and bottom bores in each bracket must be in alignment within 0.05 mm (.002").
The outside diameter of the bearing is 63.881 0.076 mm (2.515 .003"). This will give an interference fit of approximately 0.431 mm (.0170"). Lower the temperature of the bearing and press it into the bore in the bracket until it is even with the inner face of the bracket. The inside diameter of the bearing after installation should be 50.86 0.04 mm (2.002 .002").
It is very important that the bores are machined within the given tolerances. This press fit will hold the bearings in place. Do not weld the bearings to hold them in the bores. This could cause cracks in the bearings.
