Inspect the dump body for damage, wear or distortion. Check the welds and mounting brackets for the fuel tank. Check the welds and mounting brackets for the tank for the hoist, the torque converter and the brakes. If necessary, make repairs.

Remove any objects that are wedged between the dual tires. Inspect tires for cuts, gouges and proper inflation. If necessary, repair the tires. Replace any missing valve caps. Look for abnormal wear or uneven wear that may indicate mechanical problems elsewhere. Report any abnormalities to the shop. Look for damaged rims.
Inspect lights for broken lamps, lenses and proper operation. Replace broken lamps and lenses.

Inspect the transmission hydraulic system. Inspect the hydraulic system for the hoist, the torque converter and the brakes. Check for leaks, worn hoses and damaged lines. Repair any leaks, worn hoses and damaged lines.

Check the frame for cracks. If necessary, make the repairs.

Inspect all of the suspension cylinders for leaks. Repair any leaks in the suspension cylinders. Check for the following conditions. If any of these conditions are present, see Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Suspension Cylinder - Check" for further instructions.
The chrome has been wiped off and the whole length of the chrome is used during normal operation.
The Truck Payload Measurement System (TPMS) displays the service code (F00-F03) for collapsed suspension cylinders or the Vital Information Management System (VIMS) indicates low pressure in the suspension cylinders.
The ride is harsh and the suspension cylinders extend fully when the machine is empty.
Inspect the engine compartment for oil leaks and for fuel leaks. If necessary, repair the leaks.
Inspect the steering hydraulic system for leaks, worn hoses and damaged lines. If necessary, repair leaks, worn hoses and damaged lines.
Inspect the covers for damaged bolts, loose bolts or missing bolts. Tighten loose bolts and replace missing bolts.

Inspect the Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS) for cracks in welds, castings or any metal section on the ROPS. Check mounting bolts and mounting pads for damage. Consult your Caterpillar dealer for necessary repairs.

Inspect the cooling system for leaks, worn hoses and trash buildup. Repair any leaks and damaged hoses. Remove the trash buildup. Check the belts of the engine for proper tension and for good condition.

Check the dust valve on each of the air filters for the engine. Make sure that the dust valve is still flexible. Replace the dust valve when the dust valve becomes hard. Check the dust valve for plugging. Remove any blockage.
