Disassembling and inspecting flywheel

Note: Be careful not to cut manually with the ring gear when pulling out the flywheel. Be careful not to drop or hit the flywheel when removing. The personnel who hold the pulley must pay due attention to safety. Also, personnel must stay in close contact with each other during work.

One personnel must firmly hold the pulley with a wrench to prevent the flywheel from turning.
Remove one bolt from the flywheel.
Screw a guide bolt into the threaded hole of the bolt that has been removed.
Remove remaining bolts from the flywheel.
Hold the flywheel firmly with both hands, and by moving the flywheel back and forth, pull the flywheel out straight.Note: The ring gear shrink fitted to the flywheel. Do not remove the ring gear unless the ring gears defective.Inspect the flywheel (1) for steaks on wear surface, stepped wear, cracks, ring gear damage, and abnormal wear.Removing oil seal case
Note: Be careful not to damage the oil seal.

Remove bolts from the oil seal case.
Pry out the oil seal case from the cylinder block using a screwdriver.Removing rear plate
Note: Be careful not to damage the oil seal.

Remove the rear plate mounting bolts, and remove the rear plate. Inspect the rear plate (4) for crack and abnormality of knock hole.Replace the oil seal (3) and gasket (5) while install the rear plate (4) and flywheel (1) .
