Remove engine enclosure.
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Wear goggles, gloves, protective clothing, and a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved P95 or N95 half-face respirator when handling a used Diesel Particulate Filter or Catalytic Converter Muffler. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.

Remove tube assembly (1).

Remove band clamps (3) and straps (2). Use to people to remove catalyst (SCR) (5). The weight of catalyst (SCR) (5) is approximately 34.5 kg (76.05939 lb). Remove catalyst (SCR) (5) and bellow assembly (4).
Discard band clamps (3). Installation Procedure
Note: When installing a new catalyst or a cleaned catalyst, a SCR reset must be performed. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS8180, "Aftertreatment Filter Maintenance on Tier 4 Final Products Equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), and a Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) Filter" for the correct procedure.
Install catalyst (SCR) (5) in the reverse order of removal.
Illustration 3 g03596980Note: Do not use power tools in order to torque band clamps (7).
Verify that the cup of the Ball Joint (G) does not touch the radius of the Ball (F). Position band clamps (7), hand tighten band clamps (7). Band clamps (7) should be in the center of the joint.
Dimension (C) and Dimension (D) should be equal within 2.0 mm (0.08 inch). Repeat the measurements every 90° around band clamps (3). If necessary, adjust band clamps (3).
Torque band clamps (3) to a torque of 35 2 N m (26 1 lb ft).
Apply Tooling (A) to sensor assembly (6). Tighten sensor assembly to a torque of 45 5 N m (33 3 lb ft).
Tighten tube assembly (1) to a torque of 47 6 N m (34 4 lb ft).
