This may be a normal function of the engine control system running fuel out of the vapor hose to prevent engine backfiring on restart. The engine may run up to 5 seconds after the key is switched to off. Check with the equipment manufacturer for proper shutdown operation.Note: When the key is switched to the OFF position, the engine stops running within 5 seconds. When the key is switched to the OFF position, there is a 30 second burn off time within which the engine cannot be restarted.: Avoid injury when checking a hot engine. Allow the engine to cool down before removing the radiator cap.CAUTION: Before restarting the engine, ensure that both the coolant system and the engine oil level have been checked and refilled if necessary.
