(1) The Crankshaft Turning Tool is used on the front pulley.
(2) This Tool is used in the aperture for the electric starting motor.
Use Tooling (A) in order to rotate the crankshaft in the normal direction of rotation until number one piston is in the top center position. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Finding Top Center Position for No. 1 Piston" for the correct procedure.
Make sure that the timing marks on the gears are in alignment.
If the shaft for the fuel injection pump is not in the position shown in illustration 1, the timing of the fuel injection pump may be incorrect. If necessary, remove the fuel injection pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly for the correct procedure.

If necessary, install the fuel injection pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly for the correct procedure. Ensure that the fuel injection pump shaft is in the correct position as shown in illustration 1. The Angle (Y) should be 43 degrees. The Angle (Z) should be 18 degrees.
