Remove the clamp from the breather hose. Remove the hose from fitting (1) for the breather hose. Remove screws (2) and washers (3). Be careful not to lose the small parts. Use a suitable lever in order to break the seal between the cover and the body of the breather and pry the cover loose. Make sure that the lever does not damage the cover.
Use a suitable lever to remove element (4). Do not damage element (4) .
Wash element (4), the cover, and the breather with nonflammable solvent. Dry the components with low pressure air, or air dry the components.
Remove the old sealant from groove (6). Make sure that breather holes (5) are clean.
Place element (4) into the breather. Place a bead of silicone sealant into groove (6) .
Install the breather cover. Install washers (2) and screws (1). Tighten the screws to a torque of 9 N m (80 lb in). Remove the excess sealant around the cover. Install the hose onto fitting (1). Install the clamp. Refer to the Torque Specifications in this manual.
