PROBLEM
The pin bore may have been improperly machined in certain 197-6700 Pistons in dealer parts stock. If the pin bore was improperly machined the surface finish may be too rough.
The suspect pistons are for use in various 3606, 3608, 3612, and 3616 Engines (Diesel).
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all 197-6700 Pistons in dealer parts stock for the casting serial numbers listed below.
7683, 7765, 7773, 7799, 7805, 7814,
7837, 7842, 7844, 7846, 7870, 7888,
7889, 7962, 7982, 7988, 7989, and 7990.
Reference Image 1 for the location of the casting serial number.
Remove 197-6700 Pistons from dealer parts stock that have the suspect casting serial numbers.
