Removal of the Governor Weight Assembly

Remove thrust spacer (8) from the end of the gear.
Remove bolts (10) that secure governor weight assembly (1) to the end of the gear and then remove governor weight assembly (1) .
Check governor weight assembly (1) for wear or damage. Replace the components that are worn or damaged.Remove the Speed Control Lever for the Engine

Remove the following items (not shown) from shaft assembly (11) : nut, lockwasher and flat washer.
Remove lever (13) from shaft assembly (11) .Note: Unless lever (13) is replaced or spring (14) is replaced, it is not necessary to separate the spring from the lever.

Remove shaft assembly (11) from bushing (12) in the engine front housing. Note: The bushing (12) is secured to the engine front housing with a special adhesive. The bushing must not be removed. If the bushing is removed, the threads in the engine front cover will be damaged.
The shaft assembly can be disassembled by removing the following items: nut (16), speed control lever (5) and O-rings (15) .
Check the components for wear or damage. Replace the components that are worn or damaged.Remove the linkage for the fuel injection pump
Note: When the linkage for the fuel injection pump is removed or the engine front cover is replaced, the setting for the maximum fuel may be affected.Note: The linkage for the fuel injection pump contains two levers. One lever is for the governor control and the other lever is for the fuel control.

Remove the following items (not shown) from shaft assembly (11) : nut, lockwasher and flat washer.
Remove lever (13) from the shaft assembly.

Remove brass plug (19) from engine front housing (20) .

Remove two spring pins (22) that hold the levers in position.
Remove outer shaft (21) and then remove inner shaft (23) .
Remove governor control lever (2) and remove fuel control lever (6) .
Perform the following procedure in order to disassemble fuel control lever (6) .

Remove spring (14) from pin (26) that is located on the end of lever (13). Remove spring (14) from pin (26) that is located on the end of lever (25) .
Carefully remove spring (27) from the Angleich unit (torque control) (24) .
Remove the Angleich unit (torque control) (24) from lever (25) .
Perform the following procedure in order to disassemble the governor control lever (2) .

Remove circlip (35) from the end of pin (33) .
Compress spring (32) and remove pin (33) from lever (34). Separate the link (30) from lever (34) .
Release the spring tension and remove spring (32) from link (30) .
Remove spring (31) from link (30) .
Check the components for wear or damage. Replace the components that are worn or damaged.
