Avoidance Zone Files
DXF files or SVL files can be used for Avoidance Zone guidance. DXF files must be given a name using the following convention: *.avoid.dxf. SVL files that are generated by the AccuGrade Office Software must use the following convention: *.avoid.svl. The Avoidance Zone files must contain one or more polygons in order to define the area to avoid. The *.avoid.dxf or *.avoid.svl files must reside in the root directory of the data card if the files are Site Avoidance Zone files. All other files are stored in the Design folder. The files load and display in the Plan view when the Display is turned on. Warnings are given to the site Avoidance Zones until the Display is turned off. When the DXF file or an SVL file is created for an Avoidance Zone, the file does not need to have the polygon boundary color or the fill color set defined. This is automatically performed by the AccuGrade System. When the boundary color is defined in the DXF file, the AccuGrade System displays this color.Avoidance Zone Detection
Two measurements can be set in the "Machine Dimensions" dialog to detect the proximity of the machine to an Avoidance Zone.
Distance from the front of the machine to the center of the drum:
Distance from the back of the machine to the center of the drum: The edges of the drum and these measurements are used for detecting the distance. The proximity of any one of the four points to an Avoidance Zone triggers a warning alarm. The "Avoid. Dist" text item displays the shortest distance between any point and the closest Avoidance Zone.Warning levels
As the machine approaches an Avoidance Zone, three levels of warning with increasing severity occur. The first level occurs when the machine is approaching an Avoidance Zone. The second level occurs when the machine enters the configured warning distance. The final level occurs when the machine enters the Avoidance Zone. The location of the machine at this final level is recorded as the machine enters the zone and as the machine exits the zone.Note: The on-site supervisor can set the warning distance for the Avoidance Zone. The on-site supervisor can also configure the display in order to allow the operator to set the warning distance. This distance can vary with the selected machine type.First Level Warning
If the machine is within three times the warning distance, the following warnings are activated:

The Avoidance Zone (1) becomes filled with a magenta color.
If configured, the "Avoid. Dist." text item shows the distance and the direction to the closest Avoidance Zone design boundary.Second Level Warning
Once the machine is inside the configured warning distance, the following warnings are activated:

In the Plan view guidance screen, the machine icon flashes with a red, triangular warning symbol (2) .
An "Avoid" indication (3) appears to the right of the guidance settings area.
