Event Codes for the Power Train ECM

(Level) Description Possible Cause and Recommended Response
E155
(2) High Torque Converter Oil Temperature The fluid temperature is greater than 129° C (264° F) for more than 10 seconds.
Response: Check the oil level. The Event will reset when the temperature is less than 121° C (250° F)for more than 5 seconds.

(3) High Torque Converter Oil Temperature The fluid temperature is greater than 135° C (275° F) for more than 30 seconds.
Response: IMMEDIATE SAFE SHUTDOWN REQUIRED.
Response: Check the oil level. The Event will reset when the temperature is less than 129° C (264° F)for more than 5 seconds.

(3) Steering System Malfunction Activated in one of the following situations:
- The ECM is not receiving signals from the Steering Control Handle position sensor.
- One of the Steering Pump solenoids has an active diagnostic code.
Limp Home Mode option will display when this Event is active.
Response: IMMEDIATE SAFE SHUTDOWN REQUIRED.
Response: Check for active CID 1471, 1472, codes for steering sensors (both CIDs must be active to activate this Event).
Response: Check for active CID 0726 or CID 0727 codes for the right hand or left-hand steering pump solenoids.
Note: Refer to troubleshooting procedure for active diagnostic codes and clear the active diagnostic code.

(3) Steering Output Detected in Wrong Direction The ECM detects the machine steering in the opposite direction of the steering command.
Limp Home Mode option will display when this Event is active.
Response: IMMEDIATE SAFE SHUTDOWN REQUIRED.
Response: Usually occurs after service to steering system components as a result of component either wired in reverse or hydraulic lines connected in reverse.
Response: Check for and clear any active CID 1469 or CID 1470 diagnostic codes for the steering motor speed sensor input signal circuits.
Response: Check the following components for correct wire connections:
- LH and RH steer solenoids, the two steer speed sensor signal circuits.
Response: Check the following hydraulic components for correct connections and operation:
- Steering pump hydraulic connections.
- Steering pump operation.
- COR valve operation.

(3) Steering Output Detected with No Command Given A problem exists in the hydraulic system. The hydraulic fluid is too cool.
The steering motor speed sensor is indicating steering motor movement to the ECM when the FNR direction handle is in the NEUTRAL position.
Response: IMMEDIATE SAFE SHUTDOWN REQUIRED.
Response: Limp Home Mode is activated when the Event is active.
Response: Warm the machine and the hydraulic fluid before operating the machine.
Response: Check for pump stroking without command.
Response: Check the pump solenoid valves for being stuck in closed position.
Response: Check for internal hydraulic leakage in the steer motor.

(3) No steering detected with command given The steering motor speed sensor is not indicating steering motor movement to the ECM when steering is commanded.
Response: IMMEDIATE SAFE SHUTDOWN REQUIRED.
Response: Limp Home Mode is activated when the Event is active.
Response: Clear any active CID 1469 or CID 1470 diagnostic codes for the steering motor speed sensor input signal circuits.
Response: Check the mounting of the steering motor speed sensor.
Response: Check the hydraulic system for:
- Pump solenoid valves for being stuck in closed position.
