Remove the axle oil cooler (if equipped).

Install Tooling (A) onto the hydraulic tank. Attach an air supply hose onto Tooling (A). Apply 276 to 414 kPa (40 to 60 psi) of air. This procedure will pull vacuum on the hydraulic system.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Disconnect hose assemblies (3) and (4) from secondary steering pump (7) .
Disconnect cable assemblies (1) and (5) from electric motor (6) .
Disconnect harness assembly (2) from electric motor (6) .Note: The transmission has been removed for photographic clarity.

With the help of another person, remove bolts (8), electric motor (6), and secondary steering pump (7). The combined weight of electric motor (6) and secondary steering pump (7) is approximately 30 kg (65 lb).

Remove bolts (9) in order to remove secondary steering pump (7) and the gasket from electric motor (6) .
