Remove the hood.
Remove the catalyst inlet temperature sensor.
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Wear goggles, gloves, protective clothing, and a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved P95 or N95 half-face respirator when handling a used Diesel Particulate Filter or Catalytic Converter Muffler. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.

Attach Tooling (A) to catalyst assembly (SCR) (1). The weight of catalyst assembly (SCR) (1) is approximately 51 kg (112 lb).
Disconnect strap assemblies (2).
Loosen band clamp (3). Use Tooling (A) to remove catalyst assembly (SCR) (1). Remove catalyst assembly (SCR) (1).

Loosen band clamp (4) and remove bellows assembly (5).
Discard band clamps (3) and (4).Installation Procedure
Note: When installing a new catalyst or a cleaned catalyst, a SCR reset must be performed. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS8180, "Aftertreatment Filter Maintenance on Tier 4 Final Products Equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), and a Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) Filter" for the correct procedure.
Install catalyst assembly (SCR) (1) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten strap assemblies (2) to a torque of 16.5 1.5 N m (146 13 lb in).

Note: Do not use power tools to torque band clamps (3) and (4).
Verify that the cup of ball joint (F) does not touch the radius of ball (E). Position one ball joint and loosely tighten band clamp (4).
Align and install the second ball joint and loosely tighten band clamp (3).
Dimension (C) and Dimension (D) should be equal within 2.0 mm (0.08 inch). Repeat the measurements every 90° around band clamps (3) and (4). If necessary, adjust band clamps (3) and (4).
Tighten band clamps (3) and (4) at the ball joints to a torque of 35 2 N m (26 1 lb ft).
