Air line pressure loss may occur on the machines listed above. The failure is due to the development of cracks in the hoses which leads to lack of power due to leak in charge air lines.Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but an interim repair has not been defined. In the event of failure, replace the failed 339-8692 Reducer Hose, 455-6736 Hose, and 547-6518 Hose with the same new part.Create a "Service Information Management System" (SIMS) entry for the failed component to generate a "Send-It-Back" (SIB) request. The SIB request will be issued to you through the SIB process after the SIMS entry is created. Submit the failed component along with any other available information to SIMS.Note: SW00078096 for 547-6518 Hose, SW00078097 for 339-8692 Reducer Hose, and SW0078098 for 455-6736 Hose.If you have additional feedback or pictures of the failures, please submit it to the "Continuous Process Improvement" (CPI) team through the CPI Feedback function.
