Caterpillar packaging supplier incorrectly placed the 14-pin cable ( 510-4063 Cable As) in packages labeled 510-4065 Cable As instead of the 9-pin cable ( 510-4065 Cable As).Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but a permanent repair has not been identified. As an interim action, follow the below procedure:

Illustration 3 g06225962If the label on the cable shows the incorrect part number ( 510-4063 Cable As) as shown in Illustration 3 then the cable should be returned through the claims system. Refer to Global Service Warranty Guide, Service Warranty Bulletin 1.28 "Shipping Damage and Discrepancies" for information on correctly submitting these claims.Note: Cat dealer personnel should check that 510-4065 Cable As package contains the correct cable (9-pin connector), before using the cable or taking the cable to a customer site.
