To prevent personal injury or even death from ejected parts or flying objects never remove the upper rigid guard or the lower flexible guard during operation of the portable track press. Never remove either guard when the tool is under pressure.
Note: The force on the hydraulic cylinder should not exceed 75 tons.
Loosen nuts (C) and (E). Reposition plate (D) and plate (G).
Apply Tooling (M) to the bores of track link (3) and the cartridge pins. Position cylinder (J) and position track link (3).
Tighten the nuts to secure the track link. Make sure that the track link is aligned to the pins.Note: Make sure that the cylinder piston is at the center of the Tooling.
Install guard assembly (K). Use cylinder (J) to install track link (3).

Install track shoes (2) and bolts (1).
For the D5K, tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 200 25 N m (148 18 lb ft). Then, tighten each bolt by an extra turn of 120 5 degrees.Note: Tighten Clamp Master Track bolts Open Window to a torque of 250 25 N m (184 18 lb ft). Then, tighten the master bolts by an extra turn 4 times 90 5 degrees.Note: Tighten Clamp Master Track bolts Center Strut to a torque of 350 25 N m (258 18 lb ft). Then, tighten the master bolts by an extra 120 5 degrees. Refer to Undercarriage Reconditioning Bulletin , REHS2220 , "Installation and Removal of SystemOne Clamp Master " for more details.
For both the D3K and D4K, tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 145 25 N m (107 18 lb ft). Then, tighten bolts (1) an extra 120 5 degrees.Note: Tighten Clamp Master Track bolts Center Strut to a torque of 225 25 N m (166 18 lb ft).Then, tighten the master bolts by an extra 120 5 degrees. Adjust the track tension. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Track - Check/Adjust".Connecting Procedure for Series SALT

Install Tooling (D).
Start the machine. Move the sprocket forward until the track is pulled upward onto the sprocket. The master link and the track shoe must be forward of the vertical center line on the sprocket.Note: Do not stand behind the sprocket when the track is pulled onto the sprocket.

Install Tooling (E) between the track shoe and the track carrier roller.
Move the sprocket slowly forward. Use Tooling (E) as a guide. Move the track assembly over the track carrier roller and onto the front idler.
