Put lube oil on the bridge dowels and the bore of each bridge (3). Install the bridges in the original locations. Loosen the adjusting screws.
Use the following procedure in order to adjust the bridges:
Put clean oil in the lubrication passage of the bridge.
Back out the adjusting screw. Press straight down on the top contact surface of bridge (3) with a force of 50 10 N (11 2 lb).
Turn the adjusting screw clockwise until the oil film in the lubrication passage of the bridge moves inward. This indicates that the adjusting screw has made contact with the valve stem.
Equalize the side clearance with the dowel by turning the adjusting screw clockwise.
Hold the adjusting screw in this position. Tighten the locknut to a torque of 100 15 N m (74 11 lb ft).
Do this procedure for both bridges. Put lube oil on the top contact of both bridges.
