Schematic of the Hydraulic Lock Circuit This diagnostic code is associated with the Hydraulic Lock Circuit. The FMI 03 means that the machine ECM determined that the voltage is above normal. The possible causes of this failure are listed below:
The solenoid energizer circuit is shorted to +battery.
The hydraulic lock relay has failed.
The machine ECM has failed. This is unlikely. When this failure occurs, a warning is displayed on the message center and the machine ECM disables the hydraulic system.Test Step 1. CHECK THE HYDRAULIC ACTIVATION CIRCUIT OF THE HARNESS.
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness connectors J1 and J2 from the machine ECM.
Disconnect the machine harness connector from the solenoid.
Place a jumper between contacts 3 (wire E997-BR) and 5 (wire K944-YL) of the hydraulic lock solenoid.
Measure the voltage between contact J2-55 (wire E997-BR) of the machine harness connector and frame ground. Expected Result:The voltage is approximately 0.0 0.5 DCV. Results:
OK - The voltage is approximately 0.0 .5 DCV. The circuit is correct. Proceed to test step 2.
NOT OK - The voltage is greater than 0.0 0.5 DCV. The circuit is not correct. The harness has failed.Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness. Stop.Test Step 2. VERIFY THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE REMAINS.
Reconnect all machine harness connectors.
Remove the jumper that was placed in the previous test.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
Clear all active failures from the message center by pressing the "OK" key that is located on the keypad.
Operate the machine.
Check the message center for an active diagnostic code. This is normal. The diagnostic information may also be viewed with the ET. Expected Result:The diagnostic code for the solenoid is not present. Results:
OK - The diagnostic code for the solenoid is not present. The failure was probably caused by a poor electrical connection or an open at one of the harness connectors that was disconnected and re connected. Resume normal machine operation. Stop.
NOT OK - The diagnostic code for the solenoid is still present. The failure has not been corrected. The machine ECM has failed. It is unlikely that the ECM has failed. Exit this procedure and perform this procedure again.Repair: If the cause of this failure is not found, replace the machine ECM. See Testing And Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace". Stop.
