Information:

START BY:a. remove front differential 1. Fasten a hoist to tire and rim assembly (1). Remove the nuts and washers that hold the tire and rim assembly to the wheel assembly. Remove tire and rim assembly from the wheel assembly. The weight of each tire and rim assembly is 204 kg (450 lb.). 2. Remove bolts (3) and guard (4) from the axle housing.3. Disconnect brake line (2) from the brake caliper, and remove the brake line from the axle housing. 4. Fasten tooling (A) and a hoist to the brake caliper as shown.5. Remove bolts (6) that hold the brake caliper to the axle housing. Remove brake caliper (5). The weight of each brake caliper is 48 kg (106 lb.). 6. Fasten tooling (B) and a hoist to one of the threaded studs of the wheel assembly as shown.7. Remove bolts (8) that hold wheel assembly (7) to the axle housing. Remove the wheel assembly and spindle as a unit from the axle housing. The weight of each wheel assembly and spindle is 168 kg (370 lb.).Assemble Front Axle Housing
1. Fasten tooling (B) and a hoist to one of the threaded studs of the wheel assembly as shown.2. Check O-ring seal (2) on the wheel assembly for wear or damage. If necessary, make a replacement.3. Put wheel assembly (1) in position on the axle housing, and install the eight bolts that hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 270 25 N m (200 18 lb.ft.). 4. Fasten tooling (B) and a hoist to brake caliper (3) as shown.5. Put the brake caliper in position on the axle housing, and install the eight bolts that hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 270 25 N m (200 18 lb.ft.). 6. Check the clearance between pins (7) on each end of the calipers and brake disc (5) with a thickness gauge (4). The clearance between pins (7) and brake disc (5) must not be less than 3.00 mm (.118 in.). Loosen bolts (6), and move pins (7) in or out to get the correct amount of clearance.7. Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 45 7 N m (33 5 lb.ft.). 8. Put brake line (8) in position on the axle housing, and connect the brake line to the brake caliper.9. Put guard (10) in position on the axle housing, and install two bolts (9) that hold it. 10. Fasten a hoist to tire and rim assembly (11) as shown. Put the tire and rim assembly in position on the axle housing, and install the washers and nuts that hold it.11. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 475 50 N m (350 37 lb.ft.).END BY:a. install front differential
