Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove lower fan drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Drive - Remove and Install (Lower Fan Drive)".
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Loosen tensioner (1) and remove V-belt (2) from the alternator.
Disconnect harness assemblies (3) from the alternator.

Remove bolt (4) and bolt (6).
Remove alternator (5) from the mounting group.Installation Procedure

Position alternator (5) on the mounting group.
Install bolt (4) and bolt (6).

Connect the harness assemblies to alternator (5). Refer to Specifications, "Alternator and Regulator".
Install V-belt (1) on alternator (3).
Adjust the tension on the V-belt. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belt - Inspect/Adjust/Replace".
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.End By:
Install lower fan drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Drive - Remove and Install (Lower Fan Drive)".
