Remove the inlet and exhaust valves. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Inlet and Exhaust Valves - Remove and Install".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Note: One inlet and one exhaust valve have been removed in the example.
Use Tooling (A) to remove the valve seat inserts (1) from the cylinder head.Note: Refer to Special Instruction, SMHS7935 for more information on the use of Tooling (A) .
Repeat the procedure for the remaining valve seat inserts.Note: When new valve seat inserts are installed, new valves and new valve guides must be installed.
Remove the valve guides. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Inlet and Exhaust Valve Guides - Remove and Install".Installation Procedure

Lower the temperature of new valve seat inserts (1) .
Position valve seat inserts (1) in the cylinder head. Use Tooling (B) to seat valve seat inserts (1) in the cylinder head.
Repeat the procedure for the remaining valve seat inserts.Note: When new valve seat inserts are installed, new valves and new valve guides must be installed.
Install new valve guides. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Inlet and Exhaust Valve Guides - Remove and Install".End By: Install the inlet and exhaust valves. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Inlet and Exhaust Valves - Remove and Install".
