System Operation Description:The "GENERATOR OUTPUT SENSING CIRCUIT FAULT" will become active when the following conditions exist.
The engine is running
The EMCP 4 is receiving AC voltage and current information
The EMCP 4 is not processing any AC measurementsTest Step 1. CHECK FOR LATEST VERSION OF SOFTWARE.Make sure that the most recently available EMCP software flash file is installed on the controller. If needed, refer to the Troubleshooting, "Electronic Control Module (Generator Set) - Flash Program" section in this manual to install the flash file. The most recent version of the flash file can be found on Service Information System website.Results:
OK - The latest version of EMCP software has been installed. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - The latest version of EMCP software has not been installed.Repair: Download and install the latest software and check for correct operation.STOPTest Step 2. CHECK CAN DATA LINK.Verify that the CAN Data Link is operating as expected. If needed, refer to the Troubleshooting, "Data Link Circuit Fault" section in this manual to troubleshoot the data link.Results:
OK - The CAN Data Link is operating as expected.Repair: If the problem is not repaired, call the dealer solutions network or the dealer technical communicator.STOP
NOT OK - The CAN Data Link is not operating as expected.Repair: Use the information above to troubleshoot the CAN Data Link. Make repairs and check for correct operation.STOP
