Remove Oil Pump
START BY:a. remove oil pan 1. Remove bolts (1). Remove oil suction bell (5).2. Remove bracket (4). Remove bolt (3). Remove tube (2). Remove supply tube (7).3. Remove oil pump (6).Install Oil Pump
1. Put pump (1) in position on the engine. Install bolts (2).2. Install the oil supply tube, suction bell tube and suction bell. Put clean engine oil on all O-rings before the tubes are installed.END BY:a. install oil panDisassemble Oil Pump
START BY:a. remove oil pump 1. Remove the bolt and washer that hold the gear on the shaft.2. Use tooling (A) to remove drive gear (1) from the shaft. Remove the key from the shaft. 3. Remove retainer (3) for the bypass valve.4. Remove the spring and the bypass valve.5. Remove cover (2) from the pump body. 6. Use tooling (B) to remove the bearings from the cover. 7. Remove gears (5) from pump body (4).8. Use tooling (B) to remove the bearings from the pump body.Assemble Oil Pump
1. Use tooling (A) to install the bearings in the pump body. Install the bearings so the split in the bearings is 30° 15° from the center line of the bearing bores and toward oil pump outlet passage (2).2. Install idler gear (1) and drive gear (3) in the oil pump body. Put clean engine oil on the bearings and gears. 3. Use tooling (A) to install the bearings in cover (4). Install the bearings so the split in the bearings is 30° 15° from the center line of the bearing bores toward oil pump outlet passage (2).4. Install bypass valve (5), spring (6), the spacer and the retainer. 5. Install the key on the shaft.6. Install gear (7) on the shaft. Install the washer and bolt that hold the gear on the shaft. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 55 7 N m (41 5 lb.ft.). Make sure the pump turns freely after assembly.END BY:a. install oil pump
