Active Diagnostic Codes
The machine diagnostics can be obtained through the machine display or with the Plus+1 Service Tool for Caterpillar (P1STC).Active faults can be quickly found by reviewing the "Active Diagnostics" page in the PLUS+1 Service Tool for Caterpillar. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Diagnostic Code List". Also refer to Troubleshooting, "Using the Electronic Service Tool to Determine Diagnostic Codes" or Troubleshooting, "Using the Operator Monitor to Determine Diagnostic Codes".

Data Logging screen
Establish communications with the machine controllers using PLUS+1 Service Tool for Caterpillar. A recorded log can be saved and viewed for future reference by selecting the red recorder button (1). In the following examples, "Propel" (2) has been selected.
Illustration 3 g03267898Type in the name for the log file being created, for example "PROPEL DURING FAULT", then select "Save".The default location for the log files is – "C:\Documents\Sauer-Danfoss\PLUS1\GUIDE Service Tool\Log".Note: PLUS+1 Service Tool for Caterpillar will create and save two separate file types, “.LDF” and “.GEN”. Both files will use the same name and be saved to the same folder. Both files are required for view or playback.

Illustration 5 g03267917In the above screen, the machine was propelled while the data is being recorded. The data being viewed with the service tool is being recorded. The recording will stop once any changes/selections are made in the service tool. However, "Run" and "Hold" buttons (4) can be selected in order to record at the desired times.An optional real-time graphing icon (5) can be selected for a graphical display of values.
Illustration 6 g03267956Select the folder icon (6) in order to view the saved “.LDF” type log file. From the pop-up window, browse to the saved log file then select and open the file.

The 'Export' button (9) is used to export the log file to a folder of your choice. Select the 'Back' button (10) to return back to the service tool menu screen.
