start by:a) remove front roller frame 1. Put tooling (A) in position under the front roller frame.2. Disconnect cable (1) from the track adjuster. 3. Fasten a hoist and remove track adjuster (2). The weight of the track adjuster is 350 lb. (158 kg).Install Track Adjuster
1. Fasten a hoist and slide track adjuster (1) in the front roller frame. 2. Connect cable (2) to the track adjuster.3. Remove tooling (A).end by:a) install front roller frameDisassemble Track Adjuster
start by:a) remove track adjuster 1. Put the track adjuster on blocks. Fasten a hoist and remove cylinder (1). The weight of the cylinder is 140 lb. (63 kg). 2. Remove spiral lockring (2) from the rod. 3. Remove seal service group (3) from the rod. 4. Remove seal rings (4) and (5) from the seal. 5. Remove cylinder (7) from rod (6). Use two persons to do this. The weight of the cylinder is 70 lb. (32 kg). 6. Remove rings (8) from cylinder (7). 7. Remove two rings (9) from the inside of cylinder (7).Assemble Track Adjuster
1. Install two rings (1) inside of cylinder (2). Put SAE 30 W oil on rings. 2. Install rings (3) on cylinder (2). Put SAE 30 W oil on the rings. 3. Put SAE 30 W oil on rod (4). Use two persons and install cylinder (2) on rod (4) as shown. 4. Install ring seal (5) on seal (6).
Make sure ring (5) is in the groove in the seal.
5. Put a piece of .093 in. (2.36 mm) wire (7) in the groove in the rod. The wire will let ring (5) slide by the groove when seal (6) is installed.6. Put SAE 30 W oil on seal (6). Install the seal on the rod with the lip up. See ILLUSTRATION OF TRACK ADJUSTER AND RECOIL SPRING.
Make sure ring (5) is in the groove in seal (6) before it is installed in its original position.
7. Remove wire (7) from the groove. Install seal ring (8) on the seal. 8. Install spiral lockring (9) on the rod. 9. Put SAE 30 W oil on the inside bore of cylinder (10). Fasten a hoist and install cylinder (10) on cylinder (2).end by:a) install track adjuster
