Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

The engine oil pump idler gear can fall off of the pump when the pump is removed or installed. Injury may result. To help prevent injury, always hold the idler gear on the pump when the pump is removed or installed.
Install engine oil pump (4) onto the cylinder block. Ensure that the idler gear is engaged with the crankshaft gear and install the washers and four bolts (2) .
Install two bolts (3) that hold the scavenge line to engine oil pump (4) .
Install the lock washer and bolt (1) that holds the suction bell to the oil pan plate.End By: Install the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Remove and Install".
