Pressurized System: Hot coolant can cause serious burns. To open the cooling system filler cap, stop the engine and wait until the cooling system components are cool. Loosen the cooling system pressure cap slowly in order to relieve the pressure.

Check Coolant Level

Typical example (1) Sight gaugeThe pumper is equipped with two coolant level sight gauges. The sight gauges are located on the expansion tank. Sight gauge (1) on the right hand side of the expansion tank is for the jacket water. The sight gauge on the left hand side of the expansion tank is for the aftercooler. Observe the position of the coolant level in the sight gauge. At normal operating temperature, the proper coolant level is in the upper half of the sight gauge. If the coolant mixture is low, add the proper coolant mixture.Add Coolant

Stop the engine. Allow the engine to cool.
Remove the cooling system filler cap slowly in order to relieve any pressure. Pour the proper coolant mixture into the filler pipe.

Gaskets
Clean the cooling system filler cap. Inspect the gaskets of the cooling system filler cap. If the gaskets are damaged, replace the old cooling system filler cap with a new cooling system filler cap. Install the cooling system filler cap.
Start the engine. Inspect the cooling system for leaks.
