Normally Closed Contact Configuration
To use the normally closed contacts in the EPO switch, remove the jumper wire and run wires from pin 1 and pin 2 in the EPO switch to the Remote Input Block that is located on the System I/O Module.Note: The System I/O Module is located on the Left Component panel in the lower left hand corner. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Interfaces".External Source Synchronization
This option provides synchronization of the UPS with an external source. This option ensures a synchronous transfer to redundant UPS systems that are powered from a source that may be non-synchronous.Seismic Tie-down
Seismic Tie Down option provides templates for seismic anchoring of individual cabinets.Grounding
Three-Wire Grounding is standard on UPS1200 three wire design and Four-Wire Grounding is standard on UPS1000 four wire design. A Four-Wire Grounding Option is available for the UPS1200 three wire design. Four-Wire Grounding configuration consists of two additional cabinets, one with Four-Wire Output Isolation Transformer which has separately derived neutral and second cabinet with four wire output breaker.Output Circuit Breaker
The UPS standard configuration does not provide an output circuit breaker. The following Output Circuit Breaker Options are available:
Manual K5 Circuit Breaker, 3Wire/3-Pole
4-Wire/3-Pole Circuit Breaker
4-Wire/4-Pole Circuit BreakerMaintenance Bypass
The maintenance bypass option provides an integrated bypass circuit to protect the load while the majority of the UPS system is de-energized. When the system is in maintenance bypass mode and the states of MBP and K5 circuit breakers are verified and locked-out appropriately, the remainder of the UPS system is down.
Risk of electric shock or energy hazard. Parts inside this UPS are energized by the flywheel even when the AC power is disconnected.
The option is housed in a 21-inch wide cabinet to the left of the standard I/O cabinet. The input connections to the facility are similar to the facility inputs used in the I/O cabinet. Facility input cables are connected via two-hole lugs in the input bus bars located above the MBP circuit breaker in the maintenance bypass cabinet. The outputs below the MBP circuit breaker are connected to the UPS system output via bus bars supplied with this option and connected at the customer's site. The Maintenance Bypass option also requires an output breaker in the I/O Cabinet, (K5). This breaker prevents backfeed into the UPS module during UPS servicing while in the Maintenance Bypass mode.Maintenance Bypass Operation

Transfers are made by pressing the lighted control buttons inside the Maintenance Bypass Cabinet. These buttons are green when illuminated. Each button closes one breaker. For a short time (less than four seconds), both paths supply the load.Note: During a transfer, press the button until the light Extinguishes. Releasing the button before the light extinguishes can result is an incomplete transfer.Only one transfer switch is active at any given time. If the green light within the switch is not illuminated, that switch is not enabled to allow a transfer. The time delay relay in the MBP cabinet controls this duration. TO/FROM maintenance bypass states are affected and the alternate breaker is opened if all
