CARRIER AS-RING 3T3248 - Caterpillar

Use eight bolts (14), eight washers (13), one bolt (16), two washers (15), and one nut (12) to install hinge assembly (11) onto actuator (9). Refer to Illustration 31 and Illustration 33.Note: Ensure that small hole (D) on hinge assembly (11) is in line with timing mark dimple (C) on actuator (8). Refer to Illustration 33.

Connect purge lines to port (LA1) and (LA2) on actuator (9) with the opposite ends of the purge lines to a proper drain captive system.
Actuate the ladder to the LADDER RAISE position for 10 seconds or until there is a steady stream of hydraulic oil with no air in the oil.
Actuate the ladder to the LADDER LOWER position for 10 seconds or until there is a steady stream of hydraulic oil with no air in the oil.
Disconnect the purge lines from actuator (8).

(L2) Ladder latch locking pins
With the bolts loose raise the ladder. As the pins engage the ladder, the latch should align to the ladder. Ladder latch locking pins (L2) should be fully engaged (top and bottom) before preceding to the next Step. If the pins are not fully engaged, repeat this Step making sure that the components are loose as per the previous Step.
