Disconnect exciter stator wiring (11) .
Remove bolts (10) and bracket assembly (8) .

Remove ring (12) and O-ring seal (13) .

Use Tooling (C) to remove bearing (14) .Installation Procedure

Ensure that bearing cap (14) is installed and properly orientated.Note: Failure to install bearing cap (14) before the bearing is installed will result in removal of the bearing again.

Note: Do not use any other method or process to raise the temperature of bearing (15) other than an induction heater or an oven. Do not rotate or impact the heated bearing.
Raise the temperature of bearing (14) to a maximum of 149° C (300° F). Use Tooling (D) to install bearing (14) .

Install ring (12) and O-ring seal (13). Apply a thin layer of Tooling (E) to the bearing cavity.

Install Tooling (F) into bearing cap (15) .

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to bracket assembly (8). Refer to Table 3 for the approximate weight of bracket assembly (8).

Guide Tooling (F) through the bolt holes of bracket assembly (8). Position bracket assembly (8) and install bolts (10) .
Connect exciter stator wiring (11) .
Remove Tooling (B) .

Remove Tooling (A) from between main rotor (7) and stator (9) surfaces.

Remove one Tooling (F) and install one bolt (6). Remove other Tooling (F) and install other bolt (6) .
Install outer bearing cover (5) .

Install air inlet screen (4) .

Install terminal panel (2) and lifting eye (3) .
Install panel (1) .
Connect the DC battery supply.
Close the AC breaker.End By: Install optional permanent magnet pilot exciter ( PMG) attachment if equipped.
