The threads on the 5P7263 Indicator Contact Point do not go all the way to the head of the contact point. If the contact point is threaded into an 8T1002 Pickup (part of the 8T1000 Electronic Position Indicator Group), the head of the contact point does not contact the shaft of the pickup. This can put a strain on the threads of the contact point and cause them to break. The problem can be corrected by counterboring the end to pickup as shown in the illustration. The counterbore will provide room for the unthreaded portion of the contact point and allow the head of the contact point to contact the pickup.
